Buses start leaving Bangkok in the wee early hour of 6:00 am and the last bus usually leaves around 21:00.
You show up at the bus station, and it is a big ole open room with different desks around. We walked around until we found a window that said Bangkok Pattaya bus. There were about 4 different Bangkok to Pattaya private bus companies. And one of us stayed in line while the other went around to see what times the others were leaving.
We got very lucky and were able to get right on a bus. You can always check the Bangkok to Pattaya Bus Timetable, but I personally saw that it’s not right. Do not buy a ticket beforehand either, you pay on the bus.
Bangkok to Pattaya bus fare should be right around 200 Baht per person. Do not pay until you are on the bus. The bus has about 12 seats and is jammed packed with everyone’s luggage, if you are a heavy packer the bus may not be your best choice.

When taking a bus they drop you on the outskirts of town and say get out. Or at least they did for me. Here is where they dropped me, it was weird, but okay.
They actually drop you at a “taxi” stop. The men there will offer to take you on their tuk-tuk to downtown Bangkok Pattaya walking street for 100 baht/per person. You could try to barter for a cheaper price, I’m not very good at that.
You can also grab a private bolt from here to wherever you are going. WORD of advice though, they yelled at my driver, and another passenger in my minibus got so mad when they swooshed away their grab driver he walked away steamy. I actually had to holler to the driver not to leave for us too.
I get it, but still super annoying and unnecessary. If you are traveling solo they also have bikes available to cruise you into town. It should be reasonably priced, but as always agree beforehand.
