Porto is the second largest city right after Libson, and they start the party in the late afternoon and will stay out all night long. Everyone is welcome to have a good time. Another fun thing to do is Porto wine tours, these can be done during the day or at night.

If you’re looking for the ultimate nightlife experience, there’s no better place to be than the Rua da Galerias de Paris area. It can get busy and you need to be careful crossing Porto’s downtown at night.

This bustling street in the heart of downtown Porto is a hub of activity, with some of the city’s hottest bars and nightclubs lining the old cobblestone streets. You can find anything from high-end rooftop bars, to two-floor nightclubs, or casual bar cafes to chill with new friends. You’ll find everything on need at Rua da Galeria de Paris.

The Clérigos area is another popular spot in the city for nightlife. With a mix of bars and hip-hop clubs. It is particularly popular among university students and art gallery lovers, so it has a fun, artistic, and youthful vibe. More Places to Party in Porto

Rua Nova do Carvalho, or Pink Street is another popular nightlife spot. Not only is this space an open-air art gallery, but local artists also painted the entire road pink back in 2013! Ever since then, it has been known as the red light district of Porto Portugal.

Coliseu do Porto

A beautiful old theater and concert hall with great acoustics and comfortable chairs. You can watch pretty much any type of show here from events, musicians, bands, and Christmas plays

You can find Coliseu do Porto in the city centre close to the subway stations of Trindade Bolhao and Rua Santa Catarina. Check the agenda weekly to see what type of show you can watch. It’s a wonderful way to spend the night in Porto.

Casa da Musica

Casa da Musica has to be the most famous music hall in the city. It is highly recommended to take a private tour. This way you can learn about the making of this beautiful venue, and be taken into the special VIP rooms full of beautiful Azulejos tiles.

Teatro Rivoli

Rivoli Theater in Porto is absolutely wonderful with an Art Deco style that was designed by Jose Julio Brito in the 1930s! They have incredible shows every week, you’re bound to discover some new talents here!

Hidden Gems for a Unique Night Out

Eddie S Club – Bar & Whisky Cocktail Bar Porto

This brings us to another one of the best bars in Porto Portugal, Eddie S Club. More specifically they are a whiskey bar, with over 50 bottles of whisky to try. Coming here is more of an experience, than a place to throw back shots. The bartenders are very knowledgeable, friendly, and ready to help you find a new whiskey to try.

The interior is modernly chic and masculine to vibe with the dark whiskey and the music is excellent. Eddie’s Klub also offers cocktails, wine, and beers if you are traveling with someone who isn’t a big fan of whiskey. Go and find a new brand or two at Eddie’s!

ODE Porto Wine House

One of the best-hidden gems in Portugal’s nightlife is the ODE Porto Wine House. Here they have perfected the wine pairing with fantastic food. The restaurant is very small and intimate with only about 5 tables in total with amazing views out to the waterfront.

They start you off with homemade slices of fresh bread and butter while you savor the first bottle of wine. Some of the chef’s specialties are razor clams, slow-cooked pork ribs, and octopus rice!

RUA Tapas & Music Bar Travessa de Cedofeita

Great place to enjoy fantastic cocktails, and good tapas, accompanied by live music! The portions are huge for tapas so just be aware, the service is always top-notch and they are very friendly.

You can watch the food being cooked fresh in an open kitchen. Some favorite dishes are duck rolls, portobello mushrooms, risotto, and batatas bravas. But everything is fresh and cooked to order.

If anyone ever wants lovely food and drinks with great live music in the background, you’ll struggle to find better! It’s best to make a reservation, you can WhatsApp, call, or stop by a day or two in advance to make one.

The Gin Club – Night Club Porto

Calling all Gin lovers! Are yall still out there? I can honestly say that I have never had gin in my life! But I had to add the Gin Club for its stellar reputation. Here they have over 300 flavors of gin and will create one of their signature cocktails to match your palate.

You can enjoy your freshly made gin and sodas inside the fancy interior, or head to the outdoor terrace for a view.

Porto is a destination filled with charming streets, fabulous food, port wine, and lively nightlife that simply can’t be missed. After all, you haven’t really experienced Porto until you’ve lost yourself in the rhythms of Fado or partied until the sun comes up with the locals.

But, as with any big city, it’s important to explore the nightlife safely. If you’re planning on indulging in some of Porto’s famous port wine, always make sure you have a designated driver or use a ride-sharing app. Bolt works perfectly in Porto! Up first is the FE Wine & Club where you can find some of the best nightlife in Porto! Head in a bit early if you want to enjoy a nice glass of wine during the day, but at night they have two floors of dance parties.

The main floor is usually electronic music and the basement is hip hop. As you would expect they do have a large variety of wine, but they also serve amazing cocktails and have plenty of beer to pick from. If you are looking for what to do in Porto at night, FE Wine is always a great choice.

Plano b – Porto clubs

Plano B is one of the very best clubs in Porto. in English, it translates to plan b, but it’s okay to put Plano B on the top of your list of the best Porto bars. The drinks are affordable and most weekends they have live concerts! Try to get there early if you want to be let in, after a certain time they only let locals in.

Explore the two floors and three rooms playing different types of music. The top floor has a chilled vibe with long red curtains, comfy sofas, and amazing cocktails. The ground floor space is louder and where the DJ or live performances take place.

Club Port Rugby

Everyone loves a good sports bar, right? That’s where Club Port Rugby comes in during your nightlife in Porto Portugal search. And it’s very exclusive, you have to be a member to come in. (it is only 1 EURO lol). And it’s right off the city center. They do have a small kitchen and the burgers are always done right.

Enjoy watching your favorite team on one of the 5 giant TVs, playing pool with your friends, or just enjoying the cool environment of a sports bar. There are high-top tables with chairs, comfy sofas, as well as leather armchairs to sit back and relax with your favorite drink and watch a sports game.

Porto Best Bars Griffons

At Griffin’s, you can expect an epic mix of 80s music and one of the best bars in Porto to dance the night away. They classify themselves as a disco club, which in America means a dance club.

It is a smoking bar, so be aware of that. But other than that Girffons is a great place to relive the good old days with the 80s, 90, and early 2000s playing. They like to switch up the DJS, but almost every night you can expect a mix of fun music you can sing, dance, or gently sway to.

They are a weekend bar and only open on Friday & Saturday nights starting at midnight R. do Conde de Vizela 95, 4050-640 Porto, Portugal.

Fabrik Bar

Fabriks is one of the most welcoming gay bars in Porto. But everyone is welcome. It is a cash bar, and you will have to pay an entrance fee if you show up late. The party here doesn’t really get started until midnight, so you can play it however you want. Show up early for a more laid-back experience, or show up late for a full dance floor! Order yourself a poncha, you will not regret it.

HD Bar to Be Wild – Best Bar

Up next is HB Bar to be Wild and they are a local favorite in Porto’s nightlife on the famous Rua da Galeria street. You can start your night off here and try one of their yummy burgers. After you fill up head over to the old-school jukebox where you can pick your favorite songs for as little as 1 euro.

The drink prices are quite good, but they only have bottled beers. Bar to Be Wild is a bit more laid back than some of the other dance clubs nearby, giving it the name of one of the best bars Porto has. They have options to sit inside or out, and they are a smoking bar.

You can find Bar to be Wild here R. da Galeria de Paris 113, 4050-284 Porto, Portugal they do open early at 6 pm and will stay open until 2 am every day but Sunday!

Tendinha Dos Clérigos

At Tendinha Dos Clerigos you can expect the hottest rock music! They were one of the very first rock bars that opened up for Porto nightlife and they are still rocking out strong. Most nights they play 90s music and it draws a crowd of 30-something-year-old locals and travelers.

The real party doesn’t start until late, but you can head on Fridays & Saturdays starting around midnight. But they stay open until 6 am during the weekends. R. do Conde de Vizela 80, 4050-639 Porto, Portugal.

Taberna do Largo

Taberna do Largo is a great restaurant for you to start off your things to do in Porto at night list. They serve dinner tapas-style. Some of the favorite plates are olives, alheira sausage, and some Portuguese slides topped with salami, cheese, olive oil, spices, baked cheese with honey, octopus salad, and sauteed mushroom plates. Pair it with a nice port wine, or an ice-cold beer.

They are right off the city center it is a great restaurant to people-watch with drinks in the historic center of Porto. Most nights they stay open until midnight but they might close early or later, it’s Portugal so you never know.

Botequim Nostalgic Bar & Restaurant Right by the Historic Bridge

Botequim Nostalgic will give you all the best feels. When you are back home and thinking of Porto, this is the place you will be dreaming of. The menu consists of staple Portuguese dishes. Like the delish Francesinha sandwich, or grab a cheesy pizza, or the chorizo plate! Everything at Botequim is delish.

Locals musicians line the streets with magical tunes that gave an incredible atmosphere to relax. Order a jug of sangria and let the time pass while you enjoy some of the best Porto nightlife at Botequim. You can thank me later.

Espaço Porto Cruz Rooftop Bar With Amazing Views

Espaco is a great place for port wine tasting. This is a great spot to get your fancy night out drinking on a roof terrace. You don’t have to be too dressed up, the vibe here is still very laid back and casual. You can the Ponte de Dom Luis I bridge from the rooftop and at nighttime the cars passing by give off a magical glow.

Plenty of wine and cocktails, and beer. This is a great place for wine tasting and here they also give you a piece of chocolate to go with every type of wine! Chocolate, wine, and views, seriously what could be better?

Find them here at Largo Miguel Bombarda 23, 4400-222 Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal. They open early at 11 am and will stay open until about midnight!

Majestic Cafe

The Majestic Cafe is one of the oldest in Porto and opened in 1921. It is known for its opulent Art Nouveau decor and elegant atmosphere. Many people come to Majestic Cafe and it is always busy. They are best known for their hot chocolate, french toast, coffees, chocolate cake, almond tart, and desserts.

Many people will complain that it is a tourist trap, but sometimes you need to be a tourist and let yourself be amazed at how beautiful a place can be. They are open all day, from 9 am to around midnight.

More Club – Nightclub Porto Portugal

We couldn’t make this list of the best porto portugal nightlife and leave out More Club. €10 euro entry for guys, 5 for girls it should get you two tickets for drinks. Other than that the cocktails are about 6 euro, and a little small.

It really depends on the night you go for what type of music that is played. But mostly it is Portuguese, Brazilian, some mainstream American, and even reggaeton music. There are two floors with a cool cage in the middle for dancing.

Although it does get crowded and hard to move More Club is still one of the best clubs in Porto for dancing.

Lisbon or Porto Nightlife?

What is better Porto vs Lisbon nightlife? It’s hard to say. Lisbon has so many hot clubs and dance parties, but so does Porto. One of the biggest differences is that Porto has more authentic places to enjoy port wine. They both will cover all of your drinking needs as well as a fun night out. So why not do both?

Is there a dress code for Porto nightlife?

There is no dress code for Porto nightlife. Just don’t show up in sportswear or beach clothes and you will be okay. Most of the time it is easy for people to go into the club without difficulty. Jeans are okay in Portugal, particularly among the young population. A nice dress shirt is a good idea, but not necessary if you dont visit high fashion clubs. Girls can get away with pretty much anything, but men should wear close-toed shoes, and avoid shorts!

Yes! Porto nightlife is unmatched. There is nightlife in Porto for everyone. You can find clubs with big groups playing the hottest electronic music, or art galleries where you can sip wine into the night. No matter what your bad habits are, Porto’s nightlife will deliver.

Festivals to Experience in the Porto

Festa de São João

The Festa de São João is a two-day festival that takes place on the 23rd and 24th of June in honor of Saint John the Baptist. The festival is celebrated with a number of different events, including concerts, street parties, and even bonfires. One of the most popular aspects of the festival is the ‘batatas a murro’, in which locals try to hit each other with potatoes.

Festas de Lisboa

The Festas de Lisboa is a week-long festival in early June in honor of Saint Anthony, the patron saint of Lisbon. The festival is celebrated with a number of different events. Including live music, street parties, and parades. One of the most popular aspects of the festival is the famous ‘running of the bulls’.

Porto Wine Festival

The Porto Wine Festival is a two-week event that takes place in October or November. Locals celebrate the city’s famous wine Port wine with wine tastings, festive music, and exhibitions. One of the most popular events is ‘grape stomping’, where you stomp your own wine, with your feet.

Semana Santa

Semana Santa (Holy Week) is a week-long festival leading up to Easter Sunday. The festival is celebrated with a number of different events, including processions, concerts, and many religious ceremonies. Keep your eyes out for the ‘flower carpet’. It is a huge carpet made entirely out of live, beautiful flowers.
